Semi shade to full sun. Moderate water.
Habit (Herb/ Shrub/ Treelet/ Tree)
Herb/Subshrub – 0.2 up to 1.0 m high. Leaves are opposite and decussate, with petioles 2-12 mm long. Broadly elliptic to rhombic. Long ears inflorescences, with bundles of flowers that becomes separated and reflexed on the rachis. Flowers are in small clusters and in white to dull pale green. Hooked awns occur towards the apex with fewer sterile flowers.
Uses
Parts of the plant are used as food and medicines for diarrhoea, dysentery, pain relief, etc. Reduce inflammation in bumps and drops. Some reported use for malaria.

Used in traditional herbal medicines and effects against some human pathogens have been studied.
