Common Name: Kuroiwa Grass

Habit (Herb/Shrub/Treelet/Tree): It is a perennial, which can grow to about 5–10 cm long, with prostrate culms and roots from lower nodes. It has pubescent leaf-sheaths. Its ligule takes the form of a fringe of hairs while leaf-blades are lanceolate and measures 1.5–5 cm long, 3–10 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface is pubescent while leaf-blade margins are scaberulous.
